It is not uncommon to see patients suffering
stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and insomnia in family
practice. Other than medication and psychotherapy, we hope to have
more tools to empower patients to self healing. Here, I am
introducing meditation which is a practice where an individual uses
a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a
particular object, thought, or activity – to
train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and
